looks like a pretty nice view for a run :)
It’s always really peaceful that early since really no one is awake yet. I just wish my body would figure out how to move so I could enjoy the run a bit more. I think I get really caught up in my time and instead of enjoying the run I’m thinking more about how I need to run faster. For example, this morning, the lady on my RunKeeper app chirps in every 5 minutes to tell me how far I have run and what my pace is. Today she chirped in and I was at a 8:18 (or 8:12…I can’t remember pace) and I got SO irritated b/c I felt like I was pushing myself MORE than I do at night and I’m at a 7:30 pace!
Sometimes I get so caught up in the numbers, I forget to just relax and enjoy the ride.
I just spent $20 for cupcakes. And I “had” to put in money into an office pool to buy this girl that is getting married wedding shower gifts.
Later in June we are going to lunch to celebrate a guy who works here and his wife having a baby.
I get celebrating people’s life decisions and I like both of these people that we are doing these celebrations for, but every time something like this comes up I can’t help but think of the Sex and the City episode where Carrie adds up how much money she has spent on a friend and her friends life decisions. But there isn’t anything in return for her because, at this point, she has not gotten married or had kids.
“Where’s the flatware for not marrying the wrong guy? Or going on vacation by yourself?”
It’s nice to celebrate people’s life decisions, but at the same time it kind of stinks b/c what if you never get married or have kids…then you don’t get a reason to celebrate your life decision? You don’t need a french press? Or kitchen supplies? Or whatever else people put on wedding registries?
Just a random thought I had this morning. Waking up at 4:45am means I have a lot of random thoughts.
Today is cowboy day at work. What that really means is the senior workers are all gone today so we all dress up. We did this earlier this year and had beach day.
I’m just feeling extra fluffy today. Idk why. Just feel fluffy and blah.

Each morning, like clockwork, they board the subway, off to begin their daily routine amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
But these aren’t just any daily commuters. These are stray dogs who live in the outskirts of Moscow Russia and commute on the underground trains to and from the city centre in search of food scraps.
Then after a hard day scavenging and begging on the streets, they hop back on the train and return to the suburbs where they spend the night.
Experts studying the dogs, who usually choose the quietest carriages at the front and back of the train, say they even work together to make sure they get off at the right stop – after learning to judge the length of time they need to spend on the train.
Scientists believe this phenomenon began after the Soviet Union collapsed in the 1990s, and Russia’s new capitalists moved industrial complexes from the city centre to the suburbs.
Dr Andrei Poiarkov, of the Moscow Ecology and Evolution Institute, said: “These complexes were used by homeless dogs as shelters, so the dogs had to move together with their houses. Because the best scavenging for food is in the city centre, the dogs had to learn how to travel on the subway – to get to the centre in the morning, then back home in the evening, just like people.”
Dr Poiarkov told how the dogs like to play during their daily commute. He said: “They jump on the train seconds before the doors shut, risking their tails getting jammed. They do it for fun. And sometimes they fall asleep and get off at the wrong stop.”
The dogs have also amazingly learned to use traffic lights to cross the road safely, said Dr Poiarkov. And they use cunning tactics to obtain tasty morsels of shawarma, a kebab-like snack popular in Moscow.
With children the dogs “play cute” by putting their heads on youngsters’ knees and staring pleadingly into their eyes to win sympathy – and scraps.
Dr Poiarkov added: “Dogs are surprisingly good psychologists.”
2.5 miles.
Woke up at 445 felt good during the run but now I just want to go to bed.
And figure out why my apt is so hot w/my ac on full blast. This does not bode well for the summer.
Why am I still awake? I will regret this tomorrow.
GO TO BED VANESSA YOU ARE RUNNING IN THE MORNING.
Ps new followers please feel free to introduce yourself! I want to know about YOU!
2ish mile run and then legit just playing in the park. E was a little off today and I just wanted to play. We made a little obstacle course and we both got beat up on it them we went to another park that has a bouldering like wall on it and did that.
Its 830 and in about to go to bed bc tomorrow is Friday which means early early morning run. I found a new route tonight too that goes through a nice part of town. Its probably not smart of me but I’m planning on exploring it a bit tomorrow morning.
Up at 430 am to run? I may be crazy but I love it. Except waking up. Bc I love sleep.
YES! I literally cannot stop myself from laughing watching the Friends reels! On the flip side, watching a bad gag reel is a so painful. You know, the ones that are 17 variations of an actor forgetting a line and nothing more…
Yup! Or just trying the scene a bunch of different ways. It’s not funny. That’s not a gag reel!
DUDE. The Friends gag reels. Hours of laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
Best ab workout! And it never gets old! I still laugh just as hard at the clips!
Gag reels are the only reason why I like to buy movies/tv shows! They are just amazing! I think I have watched the Friends gag reels more than the actual shows! Gag reels are just fantastic!
For some reason I just got really excited at the thought of going to an open gym somewhere with you and flipping around together. Dammit I want that to happen!
That would be amazing. We should make it happen.
I really want to go on a “Meet my Followers” tour…it would be awesome. I’ve actually never flipped on actual bars before! I have never been in an actual gymnastics gym. I only tumbled when I was little and then made beams and bars and vaults out of stuff..and got injured doing that..and loved it :)
I hit 130 followers this morning.
I have almost 4000 posts.
I have been blogging for almost 3 years w/ only a small time period during that time that deleted my first blog and started this one.
I’m beyond grateful for the support and encouragement and advice and tough love I have received from every single one of you.
My wellness blog has been set up and I am still in the very beginning stages of planning with it. But it excites me. In a way that I haven’t felt excited about something in what feels like forever. But it is the similar feeling I got when I implemented my wellness program at work…even though only 3 people have done it.
Wellness is my passion. And I will not even begin to pretend like I know everything about wellness. But I’m here to share my wisdom and to learn from others.
Thank you for everything. I’m ready for the next steps in my journey.
